Uneven shoulders
Uneven shoulders
There are many important nerves and vertebral arteries close to the cervical spine. Therefore, when the cervical spine is injured or dislocated, the vertebral arteries will contract, reducing blood flow to the brain, causing patients to experience stiffness and pain in the back of the head and neck, headaches, facial pain, or dizziness. In addition, patients may also be afraid of light, nausea, and vomiting. In severe cases, patients may experience neck pain, and numbness in the shoulders, hands, and even palms, and may also experience upper limb numbness or muscle weakness in the upper limbs.
Causes of Neck Pain:
(I) Work-related injuries
People who need to work in a fixed posture or with their heads down for a long time, such as clerical workers, computer workers, sewing workers, writers, journalists, teachers, students, etc., are prone to neck problems. Working in a fixed posture or with the head down for a long time can easily straighten the cervical spine and lose its normal curvature, thus causing neck pain.
(ii) Accidental Injury
(III) Daily posture habits
Often spends long hours bending over to read, play computer games, surf the Internet, do housework, knit, etc.
(IV) Using incorrect pillows or mattresses
Using a pillow that is too high or does not properly protect the cervical curvature and a mattress that does not provide adequate support for the body can easily lead to neck problems.
(V) Serious illness
Severe disc herniation, tumor, spinal infection, and osteoporosis-induced fractures.
Signs that you are getting better
After receiving proper treatment, the pain and discomfort will decrease, and the symptoms originally present in the upper limbs will be relatively alleviated or even disappear, and seem to regress toward the cervical spine, which indicates good progress in neck disease.
Signs that your neck is worsening
Generally, the increase in pain and discomfort is an obvious sign of deterioration. The pain that originally only occurred in the neck will spread to the shoulder, upper arm, and even the palm, and there may be numbness of the upper limbs or weakness of some muscles in the upper limbs, which indicates that the neck disease is worsening.
