Headache and Dizziness

The causes of headaches are very complex and can be caused by excessive fatigue, allergies, sinusitis, hormonal imbalance, mental stress, spinal or tumor problems, and head trauma. Migraine headaches and tension headaches account for 90% of all headache symptoms. These two types of headaches are not life-threatening and are mostly caused by muscle tension, blood vessel problems, or a combination. If the cervical spine is injured or compressed, functional disorders of the cervical spinal neuromuscular system can also cause headaches. Chiropractors can find misaligned cervical vertebrae in patients and provide effective treatment and correction.

Headache Treatment

When you have a headache, you should immediately check your cervical spine.  By hand, a chiropractor will check if C1 and C2 are misaligned. If necessary, we can take an X-ray to confirm the position. Some patients also have hand numbness, hand weakness, or long-term shoulder and neck pain, so they should be checked if they also have a disc herniation and receive appropriate treatments as well.  The best method to check whether the cervical spine has intervertebral disc herniation is by magnetic resonance imaging (MRI).

If it is not a herniated disc, the unique correction technique can be used to reset the C1 and C2 vertebrae, so that the nerves are no longer compressed and the headache disappears naturally. If it is a herniated disc, the main method to treat cervical disc herniation is to correct the misaligned spine and then restore the leaked or protruding nucleus pulposus to its original position. We use correction techniques to treat the misaligned cervical spine, and then use the disc decompression table to provide Disc decompression  therapy for the cervical spine and the disc, thereby increasing the space between the vertebrae and producing a suction effect to restore to the position of the nucleus pulposus.

In addition, the leaked or protruding nucleus pulposus can trigger the body's autoimmune system to attack the affected area, causing inflammation and pain. Therefore, we will use shock wave therapy to effectively reduce inflammation and relieve pain at the site of disc protrusion. Another  beneficial effect of shock wave therapy is that it can stimulate cell regeneration and speed up the repair of the affected area.
